Managing Farm

A foreign national who gained at least two years of work experience in the past five years as a self-employed in cultural activities, for athletics, or through managing a farm may be eligible to apply for permanent residence under the Self-Employed Persons Program.

It is very important to emphasize that an applicant’s ability and intent of buying and managing farm must be strong because farming is a highly expert and capital-intensive industry. Real estate of farm-owners makes up 54% of average assets.

The Canadian Federation of Agriculture informs that in Canada the standard farmland value varies significantly from province to province but goes from $330 to $4,600 per acre. Farmlands that are the closest to the urban area have a higher market price. Also, an average farm size varies from province to province.

If you wish to become a successful Canadian farmer and immigrate under Canadian Farm Work Program, you must be adaptable to the different requirements of managing a farm business. You have to be able to recognize an ill animal, fix a combine that is out of order and have a lot of other important skills.  In modern society, farming has become a business that requires a working knowledge of computers and other high-tech equipment in addition to more traditional agricultural skills. Besides, there is also a trend to higher education in the farm community that helps farm work in Canada to be more effective and become successful in the sphere.
